In our focus area of digital eco-design, we research sustainable product design using digital technologies. Important research aspects include the development of resource-saving materials using AI, life cycle assessment using digital twins and the optimization of manufacturing processes using generative design. In addition, circular economy models are analyzed in order to improve recyclability. Interdisciplinary approaches combine computer science, engineering and environmental sciences.
